Moto Verde is now closed.
While it is a sad time and the close of a dream I truly cherish the experiences that I have had the pleasure to accumulate and all the wonderful individuals that I met as a result of the shop. I will truly miss you guys and look forward to bumping into you occasionally as so often happens in Cincinnati. As always ride safe, wear a helmet and most importantly squeeze every ounce of joy out of your scooter & life.
Below you will find some invaluable information to help you keep your scooter on the road over the years ahead.
General Maintenance
- 10w 40 Fully Synthetic Motor oil of a high quality (any name brand oil should suffice)
- 75w 90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil of a high quality
- 92-93 octane gas from a high quality vendor (really, you are only putting a gallon or so in at a time. Don’t get cheap on this as it will cost you MUCH more in the long run)
- Clean your air filter every few thousand miles. Replace it if it is beyond a simple vacuuming.
- Check your tire pressure, oil level and brake feel weekly. Adjust accordingly
- If you store your scooter properly for the winter it will be ready to go come spring time. If you don’t you WILL end up spending $$$ getting the gas tank and carb cleaned out….
- Regularly check the tread depth and condition of your tires. Replace them if they are worn or start cracking.
- At about 4,000 mile intervals consider replacing your drive belt with a high quality Gates belt or better. I have found that they tend to shred themselves at approximately 5,000 miles which leaves the rider utterly stranded. Think ahead and prevent this situation! There are even better Kevlar type belts that supposedly last for a few thousand miles more. Do research and decide for yourself.
- Last but certainly not least please read your owner’s manual. It makes for some fantastic night time reading (or maybe that’s just me?!) and has ALL the information you need to maintain in your scoot. If in doubt about any of the info above simply look it up in your owner’s manual.
Parts Suppliers
Batteries: Walmart (yup. They really do stock scooter batteries!) any auto parts store should be able to get them.
Maintenance and performance Parts: (yes you can make your scoot go 70mph if you really want too…..)

95% of Linhai parts are interchangeable with other Chinese scooters although the parts from Linhai are generally of a higher quality. Benelli parts are often only found on Benelli scooters.
